Nintendo Makes a Surprise Announcement!!!

SO... while we were all sleeping Nintendo was holding a secret, hour-long 3DS conference, and although no new games were announced and again no real news was shared, but with the company showing off game-play for already-announced games such as Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Looks Awesome) and a New Super Mario Brothers 2 (Meh... same old some old). 

As Twitter as per-normal has exploded with the comments of several disgruntled journalists who felt their time had been wasted,  but to me anytime spent being paid to play games is time NOT wasted. Hell, they could play the games on the show floor themselves. 

Anyway they also spilled the beans on the fact that Fire Emblem: Awakening for the 3DS will be released in North America. For those who don;t what FE is, Fire Emblem is a tactical role-playing series that has a devoted cult following in the West (It's brilliant, also if your units die on the battle-field they are dead for good), so this news was very welcome. We don't know why Nintendo chose to sit on this rather than openly reveal it at E3, but that's at least one more solid "core" game for us to look forward to on the 3DS.
