Iron Man 3 Photo's

Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and the Hall of Armors, I want to make at least one of those armours, as they are freaking awesome.

So Marvel and Disney have released the first official photo from the set of Iron Man 3, the third film in the mega-successful franchise that launched Marvel Studios into the big leagues, back with the first film in 2008. Since then, we’ve had The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and the terrific The Avengers, which has shattered many box office records, yes even the record set by Avatar and Titanic, Iron Man 3 opens May 3, 2013, and producer/Marvel Studios guru Kevin Feige says it’ll kick off the second phase of Marvel films, presumably leading to The Avengers 2.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and other returning castmembers include Don Cheadle as Rhodey/War Machine, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan. Favreau won’t be directing the third Iron Man, but is executive producing. The new director is Shane Black, who teamed up with RDJ for the terrific, but criminally underseen, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. He also wrote the first Lethal Weapon and co-starred in Predator as Hawkins.

Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin? Make it so! (Pic from G4TV)

So far, from what we know, the story seems to take elements from the Extremis storyline (not my favorite), and appears to feature The Mandarin (hinted at in the first and second films), who Ben Kingsley may or may not play. Other actors include Guy Pearce as scientist Alrdich Killean (from Extremis), and since part of the film will be shot in China, several major Asian stars will be involved, including Andy Lau and Ming Chang. Other actors include Rebecca Hall (as Maya Hansen, also from Extremis), James Badge Dale (as Coldblood, though spy photos show him as Iron Patriot, see below, from The Dark Avengers storyline) and Ashley Hamilton (as Firepower, from the classic Armor Wars storyline). Lots of villains…
