New Star Wars Game to be Shown at E3!!!

The HOT New STAR WARS Property

So this is a relatively recent reveal, and one that is less an E3-exclusive and more a production spread out over the preceding week, all leading up to a secret game-play preview set during the E3 conference itself. LucasArts is getting behind the steering wheel of a brand new Star Wars game, set in a brand new series to be added to the license's extensive background. I can't help but be excited, what being a huge Star Wars Nerd and all.

The number of great Star Wars games is limited to series hits like Knights of the Old Republic, X-Wing and then to the ones that should be forgotten like Kinect Star Wars, or that dreadful Xbox Obi-Wan game, but something about Star Wars keeps us gamers coming back for greater and greater doses of punishment and, occasionally, a reprieve in the form of a tittle that either lives up to or tremendously surpasses expectations.

So looking forward at this game, which is set to be revealed on May 31, and thinking about this "gameplay reveal" which is slated later for June 4, and wondering what it could be. A peek into the past of one of the series more enigmatic characters?

New Gears of War on it's way!!!

So if you thought Gears of War 3 was the end of the world, well your only half right. As Epic Games will be revealing the next chapter in the Gears series at Microsoft's E3 press conference!!!

That's right come Monday we will see the next Gears of War...

So this months Game Informer features a figure shrouded in shadow and shackled in chains, anyway Monday will see a teaser trailer and the first details arriving on the as yet untitled next Gears of War game.

Bungie not to appear at E3?

So for those of you who don't know since Bungie's departure from microsoft and turned their back on Master Chief and the rest of the Halo universe they have secretly been beavering away with Activision on a new game. However it seems that we are not destined to see it as of yet, which is a shame, as it's really not E3 without Bungie...

Still at least we get to see the new Halo 4 trailer :P

So Bungie's new game universe is to be published by that great publish force that is Activision (No! not EA they suck Balls!) but it will not be shown off at next week's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Duh!). While some Bungie members will be at the show (Possibly to check out the competition and what 343inc have done with halo), the company will have no real presence at the event, and gamers should not expect any announcements.

And so, as for what the Bungie crew is currently working, last week some new details were slipped out about the company's first after-Halo (A.H) game came to light. Stupidly called Codenamed Destiny, the game is contractually obligated to be a massively multiplayer online-style shooter, which will launch exclusively on the Xbox and its new kick ass successor during 2013...

Pokemon Black & White get Direct Sequels...

Well just when you think you've seen it all in the Pokemon series, they go and surprise you by announcing two new sequels...

I kid you not people...

Pokémon Black/White: V2 have been announced over at the main hub of everything (pokémon.com). There aren’t actually that many details other then that it's set two years later in the same region and that the games will be coming out in Fall 2012, and only be released on the DS (and possibly the 3DS with the 3D turned off, maybe...) and there is a single image of two new legendary from the original legendary Pokemon of Black and White, which seem to of evolved some how...
The interest in these sequels, and of course that they’ll be the first games in the Pokemon series to feature a number in the title; as opposed to usual habit of releasing a “Third” color or element title for the current generation. So the real question remains if the games had enough story to warrant a sequel, and I’m still not entirely sure what these could bring to the table, aside from new monsters, and yet another reason to catch em' all.

Mass Effect 3 - New Free DLC This Tuesday

Soooo... Bioware are giving out another freebie for anyone who bought Mass Effect 3 new…

  Called The Rebellion Pack...

  Hmmm catchy...

Because we so wanted multiplayer DLC!!! Heh, I almost said that with a straight face...

So yea, if you redeemed your online pass with a sparkly new copy of ME3, then on Tuesday and later on Wednesday for PS3 because SONY Sucks Bahahaha!!! You will be able to download a total of 6 new characters, 2 new maps and 3 new weapons to use online.

...and a brand new objective type ooohhh!!!

Well anyway maps first: Fire-base Jade and Fire-base Goddess are the two new arenas. So Jade takes place in a lush jungle reservoir with both interior and exterior sections, while Goddess takes place on Thessia the Asari home world, Goddess is basically a large circle. The two maps are going to be completely fresh when they drop during the week, and as always, they don’t have to be unlocked and are good to go once you finish your download. Thank god for that.

Next up is the new characters. Bioware are flooding us with choice this time around with a whopping six characters vorcha, Male Quarians and Humans, well sort of... they are ex-Cerberus so cybernetic husk people.

Ex-Cerberus Vanguard: These guys tote Cerberus Armour and all the fun that comes with your regular vanguards, but with a brand new lash attack, which can only be described as a huge-beam of death unleashed from the arms of the character, just like Wiplash from Iron-Man 2.

Ex-Cerberus Adept: Miranda’s old Smash/ Slam move comes into play here, you know lifting a guy into the air and then smash him into the ground and of course Singularity, the human adept class just got a lot more fun.

Vorcha Soldier: Vorcha come equiped with Bloodlust and dual omni-blades. Bioware haven’t mentioned if the Vorcha’s regeneration ability will make an appearance in multiplayer, but it’s unlikely given the current health system, which is a shame, but it might we never know it could be one of their innate powers to choose.

Vorcha Sentinel: This brand of Sentinels come with something called ‘Flamer’, which I haven’t come across in any of the three games…probably because I was never tempted to play as a sentinel. We assume that the flamer has something to do with the vorcha’s flamethrower class from ME2, but it’s all speculation at this point.

Quarian Engineer: A lot of players found it odd that there were only female quarians in the vanilla ME3 multiplayer well now it's the guys turn bazinga!!!. And it seems that Bioware were obviously listening, as their Male counterparts are finally making an appearance. They even come with Arc Grenades how brilliant is that?!?

Quarian Infiltrator: Infiltrators have something called a Tactical Scan, which allows you to see enemies through objects for a period of time, now combine that with with the Tactical Cloak, and this can become very devastating very fast. Geth Hunter eat your mechanical heart out!!!

And finally, the 3 new weapons have been announced: the Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle, the Reegar Carbine Shotgun and the Krysae Sniper Rifle...

So The assault rifle has significantly reduced kickback, the shotgun is basically a big arse arc pistol, and the sniper rifle has a snazzy self-adjusting zoom so it can be used at long and short ranges, so a overly powerful hand rifle then.

Finally there is some form of escort mission bonus objective coming, as well as an extra slot for you to use your equipment in before matches, which is semi permanent apparently...

Now while there’s nothing wrong with free multiplayer DLC, and to be fair there’s nothing really right about it either and yes sure it’s fun, you never turn your nose up at free stuff, but is it really necessary? And to be honest I’d rather see Bioware put more time into developing single-player content rather than multiplayer.
